DORA B. Mays, Ph.d

Dr. Dora B. Mays has over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Dora has been employed by the federal government and has spent most of her years helping with military families. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Human Services specializing in Marriage and Family, a Master of Science in Education and Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor of Behavioral Science in Criminal Justice. Her research focus for her dissertation was adolescent moral decision-making and she enjoys helping families and teens with conflict resolution. She is currently developing a program to guide individuals to their divine purpose. Dora is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. She is also certified in Couple and Core Communication, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and Marriage and Family Services. She is also a certified Professional and Personal Life Coach Author and Speaker. Additionally, she has extensive experience in Substance Abuse Counseling. She considers it a blessing to be able to do the work she loves with her life partner.
Dr. Michael D. Mays is an Ordained Minister and has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with many years of experience. He is certified in Christian, trauma, and addictions counseling. Michael is also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Collaborative Communication. Dr. Mays is the COO of AMaysing Services where he has the honor of working alongside his wife of 30+ years and oldest daughter. He received his Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Biblical Counseling, a Master of Arts from Argosy University in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Master of Arts in Theology from Saint Leo University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Saint Leo University. Dr. Mays is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is a Florida State Certified Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, helping to grow his profession. In 2007 Michael retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of faithful service. Because of his time in the service he dedicates himself to helping veterans. He has been a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. for over 40+ years and is devoted to mentoring men in all areas of their lives. Finally, Dr. Mays’ favorite past time is being with his family.

Carmon Mays is a licensed clinical social worker. She is solution focused who seeks to help her clients restore balance within themselves and their environment. Establishing realistic goals helps to pave the journey we take together between client and therapist. It is inevitable for life to provide some type of challenge and she is here to help her clients navigate their struggles utilizing a variety of coping skills developed during our sessions.
Carmon's career path began with child welfare case management, transitioned into clinical work in substance abuse counseling, experienced with family focused counseling and currently medical social work. She has worked with a wide variety of clients in the community in outpatient mental health and outpatient medical clinic.
She believes that active listening, empathy and validation in a solution focused session provides a positive foundation for effective life changes.
